This Indenture made the twenty fourth day of September in the twenty third year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c and in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty three Between Henry White of Ramsgate in the Isle of Thanet in the County of Kent Mariner and Spencer White of the same place Baker Infants under the age of Twenty one years, that is to say, the said Henry White now being of the age of Eighteen years and upwards and the said Spencer White being now of the age of Seventeen years and upwards two of the three Sons and Coheirs in Gavelkind of Sarah White late of Ramsgate aforesaid widow deceased (Sometime Sarah Spencer Spinster) who was a Daughter of and Devisee named in the last Will and Testament of William Spencer late of Ramsgate aforesaid Mariner deceased (which said Sarah White died Intestate) of the one part and William Lilleford the younger of Ramsgate aforesaid Mariner and George Kenard of the same place Mariner of the other part Whereas by the Custom of Gavelkind from time whereof the memory of Man is not to the contrary used and approved in the said County of Kent it is lawful for Heirs Seized of Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in Gavelkind at the age of fifteen years to Sell and dispose of such Lands Tenements and Hereditaments Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Henry White and Spencer White being above the age of fifteen years as aforesaid for and in consideration of the Sum of Eighty nine pounds Six Shillings and Eight pence of lawful money of Great Britain to the said Henry White in hand well and truly paid by the said William Lilleford and George Kenard at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents and of the like Sum of Eighty nine pounds Six Shillings and Eight pence of like lawful money to the said Spencer White in hand also well and truly paid by the said William Lilleford and George Kenard at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which said several Sums of Eighty nine pounds Six Shillings and Eight pence and Eighty nine pounds Six Shillings and Eight pence they the said Henry White and Spencer White do hereby severally acknowledge and thereof and every part thereof do and each of them doth acquit release and discharge the said William Lilleford and George Kenard and each of them their and each of their Heirs Executors administrators and assigns and every of them for ever by these presents They the said Henry White and Spencer White have and each of them hath granted bargained Sold Enfeoffed delivered and confirmed and by these presents Do and each of them Doth grant bargain Sell Enfeoff deliver and confirm unto the said William Lilleford and George Kenard their Heirs and assigns for ever All those two full Equal undivided third parts (the whole in three Equal parts to be divided) and all other the parts purparts and Shares whatsoever of them the said Henry White and Spencer White and of each of them of and in All that Messuage or Tenement (late heretofore Built and Erected) with the Outhouses Edifices Buildings yards Backsides and Ground thereunto belonging and adjoining and therewith usually held used and Enjoyed Situate lying and being in Ramsgate aforesaid in the said Isle of Thanet and County of Kent in or near a certain Street there called the Brick Street heretofore in the Tenure or Occupation of Thomas Parkinson or his assigns and now or late in the Tenure or Occupation of Hannah Witherden Widow or her assigns Together with the free and Common use and Benefit at all times (with the Tenants or occupiers of certain other Messuages near thereunto) of a certain Grass Plat or Bleaching Spot Situate in or near the said Street and adjoining to a certain Messuage and premises there now in the Occupation of Mary Gregory Widow and to a certain Messuage and premises there of John Holman and free Way and passage to and from the said Grass Plat or Bleaching Spot By and through a certain Gate next the said Street and at the West End of the said Messuage and premises in Occupation of the said Mary Gregory And of and in all Ways paths passages Waters Water Wells Water Courses Walls Fences Inclosures Lights Easements Liberties privileges profits advantages Emoluments Hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the Messuage or Tenement and premises first above mentioned belonging or in any wise appertaining or therewith or with any part thereof usually had used occupied and Enjoyed or accepted reputed taken or known as part parcel or member thereof or of any part thereof And the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders and Rents Issues and profits thereof And Also all the Estate Right Title Interest Use Trust Inheritance claim property and demand whatsoever both at Law and in Equity of them the Said Henry White and Spencer White and of each of them of in to or out of the said two full Equal undivided third parts of and in the Said Messuage or Tenement hereditaments and premises hereby or mentioned or intended to be hereby granted Enfeoffed and Confirmed or of in to or out of any part thereof To have and to hold the said two full Equal undivided third parts (the whole in three Equal parts to be divided as aforesaid) and all other the parts purparts and Shares of and in the said Messuage or Tenement hereditaments and premises hereby or mentioned or intended to be hereby granted Enfeoffed and Confirmed with the appurtenances unto the said William Lilleford and George Kenard their heirs and assigns To the several uses following (that is to say) As to for and concerning one Equal undivided Moiety or half part of and in the same two third parts with the appurtenances To the only proper use and behoof of the said William Lilleford his heirs and assigns for ever And as for and concerning the other one full Equal Moiety or half part of and in the said two third parts with their appurtenances To the only proper use and behoof of the said George Kenard his heirs and assigns for ever In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents (written on parchment legally stamped) have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and Seals Dated the day and year first above written.

Memorandum that on the day of the date within written and before the Sealing and delivery of the within written Indenture the within named William Lilleford and George Kennard did pay unto the within named Henry White the Sum of Eighty nine pounds Six Shillings and Eight pence of lawful Current money of England and unto the within named Spencer White the like Sum of Eighty nine pounds Six Shillings and Eight pence of like money and thereupon they the said Henry White and Spencer White did severally Seal and deliver as their act and deed respectively the within written Indenture unto the said William Lilleford and George Kennard and did then also by their own hands deliver unto the said William Lilleford and George Kenard full and quiet Estate possession and Seizin of the within mentioned two third parts and premises with the appurtenances To be had and holden unto and to the use of the said William Lilleford and George Kenard their Heirs and assigns for ever according to the Tenor of the within written Indenture, in the presence of us
